About Northwest Daytripper

So you live in the Northwest or are traveling here. If you love the outdoors, well, you hit the jackpot. Because that’s what this site is all about. Day trips to the many exciting destinations one can experience here in Washington, Oregon and British Columbia. Having moved from Maine to the Northwest in 2014 I can say that among the great pleasures to be experienced is exploring and seeing new sights and vistas and getting out  to hike, bike, ski, snowshoe, kayak, or sail, continuously surrounded by matchless beauty.  Take a camera. Experience unforgettable new places and find nature in a scale that dwarfs the human experience. It fills a person with a sense of awe and joy. That’s how I feel about the Northwest.

One of the things you will discover about the Northwest is that people are active and love being outside. Geographically the area has everything. The Cascade Range and the Olympic Range are  some of the region’s crown jewels. Mount Rainier at 14,411 feet is the most well-known peak, but Mount Hood, Mount St. Helens and Mount Baker are extraordinary mountains, dominating their landscapes and standing as visible landmarks from miles in all directions. Within these ranges you will find real wilderness and solitude if that’s what you yearn for but also some of the best hiking, skiing, climbing, snowshoeing, camping, cycling, fishing, kayaking and more. If you love the outdoors then The Northwest is a destination that can endlessly satisfy your explorations.
